The Amante Duo is a professional flute, guitar and vocal duo, based out of Calgary, AB. They began performing together for weddings and special events in 2006 on flute and guitar, and have vastly expanded their repertoire with the addition of vocals over the years. This husband and wife team lend their vocal talents often to their performances for a unique blend of traditional and modern sounds. Though the duo does excel in classical performance, this isn't your average, 'traditional' flute and guitar. The talented pair with their unique sound and style perform music from every genre - from the glorious sounds of pop and jazz standards, to indie, R&B, rock, folk, country and everything in between. Much of their repertoire has been arranged by the duo themselves to suit a particular style or a certain event. That all-time favourite upbeat song of yours can be slowed down and smoothed over for an aisle-walk you'll never forget. Improvisation also plays an important role in all performances to ensure seamless timing, entries, and exits. Hilary and Noel are the husband and wife musicians that make up this pair. Their paths first crossed in 2003 while working towards their degrees in music, where they found success in combining their talents. In 2007, they tied the knot. Individually they have been performing on their instruments for over 20 years, and it's been over 10 years since they first began performing as a duo. They have created numerous arrangements for their clients by well known artists such as RHCP, City and Colour, The Lumineers, Sam Smith, One Republic, Outkast, Michael Buble, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and more.
